Outlets & Switches
With us, you will find electrical outlets and switches in a classic style, based on models from the late 1800s and early 1900s. These are details that often remain in place for a long time and therefore have a significant impact on the overall impression of a room.
The first porcelain switches appeared in the late 1800s and are characterized by their simple, round form. Later, during the 1910s, bakelite began to be used, a material that gave black switches their distinctive weight and color. Both white and black porcelain occur, often combined with brass details.
The assortment includes switches, outlets, and dimmers in both traditional and retro styles, where modern functionality has been adapted to a classic appearance. The round shape is consistent throughout and differs from today’s more angular standard, creating a calmer and more period appropriate expression.
Switches and outlets in antique style
Around the turn of the century, electricity became more common in private homes. Initially, mainly in the cities, but eventually also in rural areas. The first electrical products were surface-mounted and made of porcelain. Soon, however, porcelain faced competition from the popular bakelite. Both flush-mounted and surface-mounted wiring can be found in houses built around 1920-30. We have a wide range of antique-style switches and outlets, all CE-marked. Choose the material below as well as whether you want surface-mounted or flush-mounted wiring.
