Herringbone Parquet – Swedish Oak Strip 16x68x408 mm (0.63 x 2.68 x 16.06 in.)
High-quality strip parquet in solid oak, produced in Sweden using Swedish raw material. The parquet strip is especially suited for classic herringbone installation. An oak parquet floor is not only beautiful but also durable and timeless. The untreated strips can be laid in various patterns and finished in different ways, giving you great flexibility to design the floor according to your own preferences. The images show how the floor looks when treated with floor oil as well as untreated.
The production of our oak parquet flooring takes place locally in Sweden, with every step of the process carefully supervised. Manufacturing is carried out with care for both materials and the environment, where by-products from production are reused to heat the drying facilities. The raw material is sourced locally, sawn with high precision, and dried to the correct moisture content before further processing. The strips are cut, planed, and profiled using modern techniques. Each strip is then inspected and sorted by hand to ensure consistent quality. The result is a beautiful and long-lasting floor – crafted to endure for generations!
Herringbone parquet has a long tradition in Swedish homes and was already in use in apartments and public interiors at the end of the 19th century. During the early 20th century, the pattern became increasingly common, particularly in interiors where material quality and craftsmanship were highly valued. The characteristic pattern, where the strips meet at an angle, gives the floor a defined structure and can be found in many preserved older interiors.
When installing strip parquet, it is important that the subfloor is dry, level, and stable. The room should be well ventilated and kept at a consistent room temperature. We recommend that surface treatment be carried out immediately after installation, preferably by a professional. Read more in our installation guide.
