Aspö Brass Lamp Base Without Shade - With Shade Ring

A lamp base with an oil reservoir made of solid brass, which was common in the past, especially at sea where lamps could easily be knocked to the floor and a glass oil reservoir would have been too fragile.

The lamp, which runs on kerosene (also known as lamp oil), is filled by unscrewing the kerosene burner. The brightness depends on the size of the kerosene burner, which is measured in lines ('''), where one line approximately corresponds to the brightness of a small candle. To be completed with a Vesta shade with an outer fitting diameter of approximately 152-154 mm.

Our kerosene lamps are not intended for decorative lighting purposes, but only as a primary light source in spaces without modern electric lighting (such as vacation cottages, verandas, and patios). Our lamps are fitted with round burners whose design is based on Swiss inventor Aimé Argand's patent. The generously perforated gallery and open construction of the wick cone allow an abundant supply of oxygen, resulting in highly efficient combustion and a light output equivalent to 6-15 times that of a flat-wick burner intended for decorative purposes.

According to EU standard EN 14059:2002, traditional round burners, whose dimensions and design have remained unchanged since the 1870s, no longer meet the safety requirements intended to protect children under three years of age from danger. They must therefore not be used for decorative purposes, but only as functional lighting. If, contrary to our intentions, our lamps are used for decorative purposes, there is a risk that children under three years of age may suffer life-threatening lung injuries by sucking on the wick or drinking the kerosene. IF KEROSENE IS SWALLOWED: Do not induce vomiting. Contact a poison control center or doctor immediately!

How to return an item:

As a customer, you always have a 30-day right of withdrawal. To make a return, please complete our return form. There you will also find more information about returns and our return terms.

Return terms:

• The product must be returned unused, complete, unassembled, and in its original packaging, and must be securely packed in protective outer packaging in the same way as when it was delivered. Original packaging sealed with packing tape will not be accepted. Return shipping costs apply.
• Heavy/fragile goods/long goods must always be returned by pallet freight.
• Tiles must be returned in dry, clean and unopened packaging.
• Once the return has been inspected and processed, a refund will be issued within approximately 5–10 days using the same payment method as used for the purchase. Delivery shipping costs are not refunded. If a return is not approved, we reserve the right to make a deduction corresponding to the depreciation in the product’s value.
• The right of withdrawal does not apply to timber (wooden floors, mouldings and panelling) or custom-made orders such as tinted paint, special alloys, made-to-measure products or assembled/painted products.
