Byström is based on similar designs from the 1920s and 30s – a period shaped by the transition from classicism to modernism. As light bulbs became more efficient, fully white glass shades were needed to reduce glare. Traditional shoemaker-style shades were at this time complemented by spherical shades.

The lamp includes a sealed bracket for fixed installation. A wooden ceiling plate can be added to allow for side cable entry (e.g., knob-and-tube wiring). It also adds a decorative effect, similar to a ceiling rosette. Matching accessories available below.
