Please note that an intermediate switch should only be used when more than two switches control the same light source. It is installed between two two-way switches, for example on a stair landing or in a hallway where a light needs to be turned on and off from several locations. If you want a standard switch to control one light source, or two switches for the same lamp, you should instead choose a two-way switch.
