Classic porcelain kitchen sink with overflow from Shaws. Shaws has been manufacturing kitchen sinks since 1897 and is considered one of Europe’s finest quality producers. This sink fits Shaws’ extra-large waste kit (strainer) with porcelain insert. The waste kit is sold separately – see related products below.
All Shaws porcelain is handmade and therefore has a dimensional tolerance of +/- 3%. For this reason, we strongly recommend having the sink on-site before cutting the countertop opening. No templates are available for these sinks. The sink should also be supported from beneath within the cabinet frame.
The porcelain material is called fireclay and is completely solid, unlike normal sanitary porcelain which has two thin layers with air in between. The solid construction makes the sink very stable and quite heavy, so ensure you have a sturdy construction to support it properly.
