Byström is inspired by early 20th-century designs from the 1920s and 30s—a period of transition from classicism to modernism. Light bulbs became increasingly efficient, which required fully covered white glass shades to prevent glare. Traditional shoemaker shades were during this time complemented with spherical styles.
