The Trossö lantern is a Swedish-made table kerosene lamp crafted from solid brass with a hand-blown kerosene chimney. The lamp is powered by kerosene, also known as lamp oil, which is refilled by unscrewing the burner.

Our kerosene lamps are not intended for decorative purposes but are designed to be a primary light source in spaces without modern electric lighting, such as cabins, porches, and patios. These lamps feature round burners based on Swiss inventor Aimé Argand's patented design, which includes a finely perforated gallery and an airy wick construction that ensures abundant oxygen supply. This design provides highly efficient combustion, producing light intensity 6-15 times greater than decorative wick burners.
According to EU Directive EN 14059:2002, traditional round burners, whose dimensions and design have remained unchanged since the 1870s, no longer meet safety requirements to protect children under three years of age. Therefore, they must not be used for decorative purposes but solely as functional lighting. If these lamps are used decoratively against our recommendations, children under three could be exposed to life-threatening lung injuries if they suck on the wick or ingest kerosene.
