Inspiration - Patterned tiled floor

In Stuvsta, outside Stockholm, the beautiful old house from 1916 has been extended with a porch. A patterned tile floor in granite tiles from Winckelmans was chosen for the floor. Follow the transformation from the customer's own sketch to the final result!

Image 2 - To begin with, underfloor heating is added to provide comfortable warmth to the floor.

Pictures 3 & 4 - The sketch shows the pattern; a checkered pattern was chosen on the diagonal in the colors Australian green and Gulvit for the mid part. Around the middle, there should be a frame in the colors cognac / yellow-white / red with floral-patterned corner pieces (beige flower on black bottom). The outer edge of the frame should be marked with a contrasting frame of green and red rectangles respectively. Outside the frame, there will be a straight grid pattern with the larger plates in dark red and cognac. The center of the floor is also marked with a flower-patterned square called Encaustic tiles. The pattern on these plates is molded with multicolored clay (i.e., not painted on the surface), which means that the pattern will stay the same when the plate is worn over time.

Figures 5, 6, 7, 8 - The floor is laid, starting along the wall and worked inward. The middle part requires millimeters of precision. By measuring the center point with a laser, the center square is placed and then the plates are laid in a cross formation.

Picture 9. The whole floor is laid and the room is furnished and decorated for Christmas!

Inspiration – Blue Spring Shades in the Store

Spring has arrived at our store on Karlavägen, where blue tones, glossy fittings, and wallpapers from Lim & Handtryck set the tone. Inspired by historical originals, the blue-and-white pattern creates a calm contrast against light wood and walls – just as beautiful now as it was at the turn of the century.
