The Classic Shaker 800 double sink with overflow, made by Shaws of Darwen. Shaws has been producing kitchen sinks since 1897 and is considered one of Europe’s true quality manufacturers. This sink is compatible with Shaws’ extra-large basket strainer with porcelain insert.
This sink can also be combined with a stainless steel grid (item no. FT0400010) that fits the bottom of both bowls. Two grids are needed if you want one in each bowl. Basket strainer and grids are sold separately; see Related Products below.
The porcelain used in this sink is known as fireclay and is completely solid. Normal sanitary porcelain typically has two thinner layers with air in between. The solid construction makes the sink very stable and quite heavy. Therefore, it is important to have a sturdy structure to support the sink itself.
