Accessibility Statement

The website www.sekelskifte.com is operated by Sekelskifte 1900 AB, and we want as many people as possible to be able to use it. This statement explains how we work with digital accessibility, including known issues. Further down this page, you’ll find information on how to report accessibility problems to us so we can address them.

Accessibility Assessment

The website is partially compliant with the requirements set by the upcoming European Accessibility Act for private sector services, due to the shortcomings described below.

How We Assessed the Website

We participated in a training course on digital accessibility and subsequently conducted an internal review of the website. The assessment was carried out through internal testing in April–May 2025.

  • Self-evaluation using manual testing
  • Use of tools such as “JavaScript Bookmarklets for Accessibility Testing” by Paul J. Adam and the “WCAG Color Contrast Checker.”

Exemptions from Accessibility Requirements

We currently do not claim any exemptions from the accessibility requirements under §12 of the Swedish Accessibility Act.
Content from external systems or third-party services that we cannot control is not subject to the legal requirements, according to §9.

Accessibility Issues

Structural and Semantic Issues

  • Headings are not always used in the correct hierarchical order.
  • The website’s HTML lacks the appropriate language attribute (e.g., lang="sv"), which may hinder screen readers from interpreting the content correctly.

Keyboard Navigation

  • There is no shortcut (e.g., "Skip to content") to bypass repetitive navigation.

Color and Contrast

  • Some text and background color combinations have insufficient contrast, making it harder to read for users with visual impairments.

Documents

  • Not all documents (e.g., product sheets, PDFs) are accessibility-compliant.

Planned Measures to Improve Accessibility

We have identified the following areas for improvement and plan to address them according to the timeline below:

Planned actions in Fall 2025:

  • Ensure correct heading structure according to semantic HTML (e.g., category pages)
  • Add the appropriate lang attribute for each language in the HTML code
  • Introduce a “Skip to content” link
  • Adjust color contrast according to WCAG 2.1 AA

Planned actions in Spring 2026:

  • Make all documents on the website accessible
