Inspiration - Period-style light switches

At building antiquarian Erika Åberg's house, there are plans to build an orangery. When it came to planning the electricity, they looked back in history for inspiration, as usual.

It is not uncommon to find old models of switches, wires, carbon sinks, etc. in basements, attics and outbuildings. Sometimes the installations remain even if they are no longer used. The first three pictures show switches in a house from 1900. It was in the childhood of electrification, so it was safest to provide the switches with text so that everyone would understand what they were for buttons!

For those who want a contemporary design but with modern electrical safety, we have several fine series in porcelain from Fontini. Erika chose these black porcelain switches. Nice devices with good design that are just waiting to be installed in the upcoming orangery. To be continued...

Äppelviken – Classic Garden Furniture in 1920s Style

Äppelviken is our new series of classic garden furniture, crafted in Sweden from untreated pine. With its period-typical design, the furniture becomes a natural part of the garden’s character. Paint it with linseed oil for a personal touch.
