2. If the hinges are on the left-hand side when opening, choose a left hinge.

To determine whether a hinge is right- or left-handed when holding it in your hand, follow these steps:

1. Hold the hinge with the pin (the rotating rod) pointing vertically upward.
2. Imagine the hinge mounted on a door and think about which direction the door would open.
