Stiernstedt is modeled after early 19th-century lamps where the shade could be adjusted to follow the length of the wax candle as it burned down. The shade holder was tightened with a screw against the central rod, which – just like on the Stiernstedt – was made of steel. The central rod continues above the shade, giving an elegant, light impression as if the shade were floating.
The shade is attached to an integrated brass rod, which sets it apart from simpler models where the shade is clamped directly onto the bulb and thus easily tilts. The switch is located on the lamp base, from which also runs a twisted textile cord. The E27 socket is made of spun brass and intended for a LED light source of maximum 20W.
