1-pole control switch in black porcelain without frame for mounting into the wall. It is used as a conventional switch to turn a light on and off from only one switch. This is not a two-way (alternating) switch, so it cannot be used when a light should be switched on and off from two different places, for example at each end of a corridor or staircase to operate the light from both top and bottom of the stairs.
